The Mindscape of Alan Moore

May 12, 2009

This video isn’t hot off the server but a gem none the less.

Feelin’ like doing some Watchmen nerding?

Listen to the eccentric Alan Moore, author of the Watchmen graphic novel, speak on the Watchmen universe.

Great stuff. Moore narrates Rorschach as well.

If Rorschach was from England this is what he’d sound like :)

  1. WOW! Well I had heard the audio of Alan reading that excerpt from Rorschach’s journal, but I’ve never seen the actual footage! It’s so cool! If that’s the voice that Alan imagined Rorschach to have, then he must be impressed with Jackie’s Rorschach voice! :O

    Always!

    This is fantastic!

  3. I remember seeing this a couple months ago before the film came out and while I like some of Moore’s thoughts, I disagree with others. It’s almost like Rorschach is a character that he meant to be written one way, but readers often see quite a bit differently. He always said he was surprised he was the fan favorite. Not a surprise to me. I suppose if he had wanted us not to like him, he should not have made him the least bit sympathetic. Rorschach is no saint, but he’s just about the only one with any integrity. Even if you disagree with him, it’s hard not to root for him.

Regardless, it’s a treat to hear him read from the book. Glad Jackie nailed it so well. :-)

  4. Watchmen nerding for the win! :D Thanks for putting that up Chris… it’s amazing.. and I agree with the earlier comment. I know Alan Moore didn’t want to see the movie… bu I really think he would have been pleased with Jackie’s portrayal… and watching this just confirms that even more in my mind…

  5. Watchmen Nerding…Amazing!

Never again will I avoid the interwebs just to complete paperwork! (Not if it means missing out on gems like this linkage.)

Thanks for the lulz (and insights! :D)
